Carcross: Hiking & Sightseeing

We will pick you up at your hotel and then drive to scenic Carcross. On the way, we will stop at beautiful Emerald Lake for a photo opportunity. We will drive down the Klondike Highway and then hike a part of historic Sam McGee Trail to a scenic viewpoint with sweeping views of Windy Arm and the surrounding mountains. On the way, we will pass some artefacts from the Gold Rush era like ore buckets and tram lines. After a trail lunch, we will descend and drive to downtown Carcross where you’ll have the opportunity to stroll around picturesque downtown Carcross or relax on the beach at Bennett Lake. Did you know that Carcross is also the home of the smallest desert in the world? Before we head back to Whitehorse, you will get the chance to walk among the dunes and take in the incredible surroundings. Afterwards, visit the wildlife and RCMP museum and the husky village at Caribou Crossing where you can join an optional dog cart ride (not included in tour). After an action-packed day, you will return to your Whitehorse hotel around 5pm.
